What is “The Juice”?
If you are new to online gambling, the term “juice” will never mean to you a way to fatten your pockets. In sports betting, “juice” is the amount of money or commission a sports book receives for taking your bet. Most of the time, the sportsbooks takes a 10 % cut for the amount of each wager. For example, the winning bettors collect only $100 on a poker bet of $110. The extra $10 is the juice. Unlike what most newcomers think, it is in their best interest to not just stick to the ones that give you high bonuses; instead your best bet would be to reduce the juice. Since we need to pick up winners to line our pockets with cash, playing reduced juice helps us to lower the winning percentage we require to break even. If you are playing the standard 110 you have to win 52.38 per cent of the time just to break even and not give the sportsbook any of your hard earned cash. But when you are betting at 105, the winning percentage needed to break even is reduced to 51.22 per cent. Therefore, Not only are you risking your money on the game, but you’re throwing money away before the game has even started.
